SEO Search Ranking Myths

SEO Search Ranking Myths have become larger and more misleading every year. Some are based partially in reality, and others have spread because it’s often difficult to prove what particular SEO action caused a resulting search engine reaction.

SEO Search Ranking Myths

For example, you might make a change to something on a page of your site, and a few days later notice that your ranking in Google for a particular keyword phrase has changed. You might naturally assume that your page change is what caused the ranking change. But that’s not necessarily so. There are numerous reasons why your ranking may have changed, and in many cases they actually have nothing to do with anything that you did.

Mixing up cause and effect is one of the most common things new SEOs do. If it were affecting only their own work, it wouldn’t be so bad, but unfortunately, the clueless often spread their misinformation to other unsuspecting newbies on forums and blogs, which in turn creates new myths. It’s always interesting to see how people are so willing to believe anything they have read or heard without ever checking it out for themselves.

Common SEO Search Ranking Myths

Myth 1: You should submit your URLs to search engines. This may have helped once upon a time, but it’s been at least 5 or 6 years since that’s been necessary.

Myth 2: You need a Google Sitemap. If your site was built correctly, i.e., it’s crawler-friendly, you certainly don’t need a Google Sitemap. It won’t hurt you to have one, and you may be interested in Google’s other Webmaster Central Tools, but having a Google Sitemap isn’t going to get you ranked better.

Myth 3: You need to update your site frequently. Frequent updates to your pages may increase the search engine crawl rate, but it won’t increase your rankings. If your site doesn’t need to change, don’t change it just because you think the search engines will like it better. They won’t. In fact, some of the highest ranking sites in Google haven’t been touched in years.

Myth 4: PPC ads will help/hurt rankings. This one is funny to me because about half the people who think that running Google AdWords will affect their organic rankings believe that they will bring them down; the other half believe they will bring them up. That alone should tell you that neither is true!

Myth 5: Your site will be banned if you ignore Google’s guidelines. There’s nothing in Google’s webmaster guidelines that isn’t common sense. You can read them if you like, but it’s not mandatory in order to be an SEO. Just don’t do anything strictly for search engines that you wouldn’t do anyway, and you’ll be fine. That said, the Google guidelines are much better than they used to be, and may even provide you with a few good tidbits of advice.

Myth 6: Your site will be banned if you buy links. This one does have some roots in reality, as Google likes to scare people about this. They rightly don’t want to count paid links as votes for a page if they can figure out that they are paid, but they often can’t. Even if they do figure it out, they simply won’t count them. It would be foolish of them to ban entire sites because they buy advertising on other sites.

Myth 7: H1 (or any header tags) must be used for high rankings. There’s very little (if any) evidence to suggest that keywords in H tags actually affect rankings, yet this myth continues to proliferate. My own tests don’t seem to show them making a difference, although it’s difficult to know for sure. Use H tags if it works with your design or content management system, and don’t if it doesn’t. It’s doubtful you’ll find it makes a difference one way or the other.

Myth 8: Words in your meta keyword tag have to be used on the page. I used to spread this silly myth myself many years ago. The truth is that the Meta keyword tag was actually designed to be used for keywords that were NOT already on the page, not the opposite! Since this tag is ignored by Google and used only for uncommon words in Yahoo, it makes little difference at this point anyway.

Myth 9: SEO copy must be 250 words in length. This one is interesting to me because I am actually the one who made up the 250 number back in the late ’90s. However, I never said that 250 was the exact number of words you should use, nor did I say it was an optimal number. It’s simply a good number to be able to write a nice page of marketing copy that can be optimized for 3-5 keyword phrases. Shorter copy ranks just as well, as does longer copy. Use as many or as few words as you need to use to say what you need to say.

Myth 10: You need to optimize for the long tail. No, you don’t. By their very nature, long-tail keyword phrases are uncompetitive; meaning that not many pages are using those words, and not that many people are searching for them in the engines. Because of this, ranking for long-tail keywords is easy – simply include them somewhere in a blog post or an article, and you’ll rank for them. But that’s not optimization.

Key SEO Factors To Keep In Mind

SEO Factors 300x300 SEO Factors To Remember

SEO Factors

To be ranked in search engines there are key SEO factors that a webmaster should understand and it starts with how to do on page SEO and the on page SEO factors when both creating a new website or when adding new content and pages to an existing website.

On page SEO predominantly pertains to tweaking your site’s code, choosing the right keywords, and optimizing your content overall to make it more attractive and identifiable to Google and other search engines’ web crawling bots so that they will in turn rank your site higher in the SERPs.

Here I’ve expanded on the major techniques which you should implement on your site if you want to rank and rank well at that.

Keep in mind that the weight which search engines place on these techniques is subjective as no one knows for sure the algorithms behind Google’s and other engine’s ranking practices. No one factor is ever been unanimously considered to be more paramount than all others, so don’t overlook any of these techniques. Most of them are quick and simple to implement, so there’s really no reason not to, either.

Keyword On Page SEO Factors

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: keywords are the gateways to your site and they play a huge role in on page SEO.

Once you know what is a good keyword and how to do keyword research, then you can find the keywords which you should be using for your on page SEO. WordPress combined with a good free SEO plugin like All in One SEO Pack makes implementing most of the following keyword related on page SEO factors simple as can be, but let’s take a look at where we need to make sure to effectively use our keywords.

Keyword(s) In Title Tags - The title tag is the line of clickable text which appears in Google’s SERPs for each ranking page. This is also the text which appears at the top of your browser’s window in naming or identifying the page which you are currently browsing. It’s important to work your best (most relevant, highest searched, lowest competition) keywords into your title tags as Google will consider this over most factors when indexing and ranking your page and in general in determining what it’s about.

Keywords In Heading Tags -
Effective use of heading tags helps Google know what is most important on your site, and what text it should pick out over the rest. It’s been estimated that most people when opening a new page will first instinctively read the top left of your page before other elements. Consequently, your most important message using your most important keyword that you want to get across should be here and ideally using the H1 tag.

From here, less important keywords should be put in H2, and even less important but still noteworthy keywords should be in H3, and so on. An effective use of heading tags is a valuable skill to have in on page SEO.

Keywords In the Body – There is no substitute for good content, and in SEO a large part of good content is effectively including keywords where applicable. This means no over saturation because as I mentioned in the last chapter this will get you penalized and possibly de-indexed. A number of SEOers have argued for years over just the right saturation which will get you ranking well but not penalized and they have thrown out different figures to try to answer this magical ratio.

My advice is to not waste your time trying to crunch ratios as there is no perfect ratio. Besides, you have better things to do with your time and other ways to optimize your site. Just make it look natural and don’t over think it and you’ll be fine.

Words Surrounding Keywords - This all may seem a bit redundant, but the words around the keywords are just as important as the keywords which you include to begin with.

Google not only looks at the keywords which you are targeting, but it looks at the words surrounding them to get a better idea of what your site is about, not to mention that it does this to check you on keyword stuffing and make sure you’re not doing anything “black hat” which could get you in trouble.

Keyword In Domain Name - This takes some careful planning, but many SEOers agree that this has a decent amount of bearing on how Google ranks a site for a keyword. In continuing with this point, you can set your site up as it expands to be more SEO friendly by naming subdomains after keywords, as well. So be as specific as possible when naming if you can. For example name a subdomain of a music site “Gibson-guitars” rather than just “guitars”.

Note the use of the hyphen in the example. Hyphens represent spaces, so if you are using keywords in your URLs, break them up. While keywords in the subdomains don’t carry quite as much weight as the top level of the domain, they’re nonetheless important and helpful to Google in identifying what your site is about.

Keywords In Alt/Image Tags - If you’ve got pictures on your website and want them to show up in image search results, you’ve got to tag them by placing the appropriate keywords inside the alt tags of each image. It’s also helpful in case some web browsers don’t load your page/images properly so that web users can still see what the image was meant to be since most browsers will still show the keyword which you included in the alt tag.

Keywords In Anchor Text of Internal Links - Just like with external links pointing to your domain and pages, whenever linking to another page on your site, make sure that you make the link using anchor text consisting of keywords which you want pointing to and associated with that destination page because this greatly helps Google in putting the pieces together.

Keywords in Strong/Bold Tags - These tags make your keywords stand out a bit more from their surrounding text to web users as well as Google’s search bots. These tags are ideal when something isn’t on the same level as say something in an H1 tag, but you still want them to stand out from the rest of your
copy.

Keywords in Meta Tags - About where you included the title in your site’s code you can include a meta description tag and a meta keywords tag. If the title tag as mentioned earlier in this article is the clickable title in the SERPs, the meta description is the short summary of what your site is about which appears below it.

If you leave this blank, Google or other engines will form their own description of your site using some of your content. If you don’t like the sound of that, you can add your own. Keep in mind that while it doesn’t have much bearing on your ranking, it’s important for display purposes/what the web users will see when viewing your site in the SERPs.

Other Key On Page SEO Factors

Time to move away from keywords to the other half of on page SEO factors. Some of these you may not have as much control over but are still worth knowing about.

Age of a Site/Page - If all things are equal between two pages competing for the same keyword, Google is far more likely to rank a site from 2002 over a site from 2007 because in most cases the older site is seen as more authoritative. Now, if that first site hasn’t been touched since 2004 and the 2007 site is constantly updated with fresh and unique content, then it’s a different story. Individual pages work in the same way so this is just something to keep in mind.

Internal Links - If you have a number of pages on your site like a blog with a lot of posts, and say that one post in particular has gained some attention and is ranking well on its own (maybe from a little off page SEO), by linking back to a second page on your site from that popular page, you have increased the power of that second page. Internal linking is a beautiful thing because if you’re lucky enough to have several pages on your site ranking well, you can spread that link juice to the rest of your site without having to rely on anyone else.

Updates – I mentioned this in the age of a page, but Google is far more likely to rank a page which is updated regularly and adds fresh content on a regular basis such as articles, blogs, or any new content in general rather than a similar site which just stagnates. This is just more evidence supporting the fact that if you want to rank well, you’ve got to constantly be working towards optimizing your site because no one gets to the top of the SERPs, retires, and stays there for long.

Flash Animations, Etc. –
Flash animation intros may look neat and some of your web users may enjoy them, but Google’s robots have a hard time navigating through them to get to your site and incidentally flash pages never rank well. If you are set on having something like that, make sure that you include a link beneath the animation to connect that page with the page you want to follow the animation so that all web users AND search engine robots can reach and index your site properly.

Avoid 4th Level Subdomains - If you have a funneling style/broad index page (like going back to the guitar example) where you’ve got a number of smaller branching out subdomains, don’t go any further than 3 levels. An example would be “domain.com/subdomain1/subdomain2/subdomain3?. Anything beyond that final subdomain will likely not get indexed as easily as search robots only go so far. Plus, having that many subdomains simply isn’t conducive to easily browsing a site if you’ve got to click on that many links to get to where you want to go. Remember, one of the most important points when designing a site is to make sure that it’s user/traffic friendly when it comes to navigation.

Site Maps - In continuing with the point of making a site easily maneuverable, including a site map and linking to it on every page can be a major help to search bots when they crawl your site, plus people can use it to easily navigate, as well. Use a freebie plugin like Google Sitemap Generator to take care of this with a couple of clicks.

Google Fluff (Privacy Policies/Contact Us) - Your site should have these either way, but similar to the site map, Google likes a site to have both a privacy policy and contact section with site wide links to them on every page as it gives a site much more legitimacy and promotes trust as people browsing your site like to see these things, as well.

Myths About SEO – Stop The Bull Sh-t
Thursday, November 03rd, 2011 | Author:

OMG Please stop spreading SEO myths!! If I see one more course, one more ebook, one more SEO company that says you need to do this…you need to do that to build great SEO I’m gonna scream !!!!! You tell me, does this sound familiar?…You buy some gurus course, spending your hard earned money about to learn the next best SEO method that will shoot you to the top of search engines, just to find out that they contradict what you leaned in the last course…what the…???

Sucked In By SEO Myths

Sucked In By SEO Myths Myths About SEO Stop The Bull Sh t

Sucked In By SEO Myths

Example, I paid $400 for this amazing course they would show me how to properly change blog content for BIG traffic. The big secret was to buy Danial Tans Word Press plug in called “SEOPressor”. What a Joke!! I installed the plugin on 4 blogs then spent hours everyday for weeks changing the content to match what the plug in told me was great SEO. After weeks of work and over some 1500 blog post modification to match GREAT SEO there was no change at all. Talk about upset and it’s been over 2 years now with no change.

One course taught me that Meta Tags are no good anymore…NOT true! I disproved this SEO myth myself by accident. I created two website on the same topic, both with 100% unique content but I forgot to add some of Meta to one site whereas the other was fully complete. The complete site was ranking on the first page of Google within hours the other was not. Took me awhile but I figured it out, the other site was missing meta key words and meta description. Since I changed it it’s ranking better but still not as good as the site that was constructed properly the first time.

Let’s take a look at some common SEO myths you may be falling for also.

Common SEO Myths

SEO Myth 1SEO Articles That Get Re-Published on Many Different Sites is Duplicate Content – Not!

This might be the biggest SEO content myth out there! If one of your SEO articles gets picked up (either from your site, an article directory, or from a site you published a guest post on), it’s called “syndication,” not “duplicate content.” That’s because “duplicate content” refers to have the same content on multiple pages of your site. Syndication, on the other hand, is a great way to build links and get exposure.

Anytime you publish SEO content, the goal is to get it syndicated. That way, it winds up in front of the eyeballs of people who are going to do business with you.

Example: I have a website that I copied 100% of the content (with permission) and simply added my own SEO techniques and that site out ranks the original site and is still to this day at the top of Google search results and that was over three years ago and I haven’t touch a thing on it since.

SEO Myth 2The Best SEO Content is 1,000 Words. (or 500 words, or 250 words)

You will hear this statement uttered by people who just don’t know a whole lot. The big topic these day being spread around the net is that longer is better, or that shorter content will leave people yearning for more – but the truth is, there is no “magical” SEO content length.

I have blog post that are 600 words ranking on the first page of Google. See it by typing into Google “Fruit Engine Scam“.
Instead, the best length for your SEO article, blog posting, or sales copy depends on your topic. Sure, it may be easy to create 1,500 compelling, well-researched words about getting over a divorce – but imagine what it would be like to read 1,500 words about heartburn medication or pipe welding. Trust me, your readers won’t want to do it, either!

Great SEO content writing leaves readers feeling like they’ve learned something new, and it instills enough trust in you that readers want to see what else you have to provide. Sometimes, you can do that in 400 words. Other times, it takes 1,200 words to do it.

SEO Myth 3 Your SEO Content Has to be Updated All the Time

The truth is… this is partially true!

Yes, the search engines like websites that are updated on a regular basis. Sites that are growing mean they are being updated. This is why your new SEO article or blog post can bump you up a few spots in the rankings right after you publish it.

Why I say partially true is because with great SEO you can have a site ranking well in search engines and hardly ever update it. Of course this will depend on your competition, backlinks etc. Of course a site called “back bacon mailboxes for junior” will rank high in the search engines if this is what 1 person every 5 years is searching for.

However, updating your existing content doesn’t have to be done all the time. For example, if you have a great homepage that’s generating results, don’t change it just to appease the search engines. Instead, add new content to the internal pages of your site.

SEO Myth 4 -Your SEO content Is Not as Important as Your Backlinks

The high-quality links out there – you know, the ones that are going to boost your ranking in the search engine results – are not the ones that you trade for, or purchase. Instead, the only way to get those high-quality links is to give something that other people WANT to link to. That means coming up with SEO content that knocks people’s socks off. If you publish content that people can’t help wanting to share with their friends and colleagues, you’ll wind up getting a ton of high-quality backlinks.

SEO Myth 5Optimizing SEO Content Properly Means Having a High Keyword Density

Of course, you need to have your target keywords sprinkled throughout your article, blog posting, or sales copy. After all, that’s how the search engines know what you’re trying to rank for.

However, if you use your keywords too frequently, all you’ll do is turn off readers and search engines.

The right keyword density for your content depends on the keyword itself. Some keywords lend themselves nicely to a density of 1.5% or 2% – while others can only be used less than 1% of the time and still look natural.

Remember, your readers shouldn’t be able to read your content and pick out the keywords you used. If your keywords stick out like a sore thumb, you’re not optimizing your content properly. Instead, your SEO content will cast a negative light on you and your business!

How To Avoid SEO Scams
Friday, October 21st, 2011 | Author:
How To Avoid SEO Scams 300x212 How To Avoid SEO Scams

How To Avoid SEO Scams

There are few things you can do to help avoid SEO scams and help define two important elements that can qualify companies that promote themselves as SEO experts to make sure they are competence and professionalism. Here I can help you find out if a company is competent and professional, as well as legitimate.

It’s up to you to do your due diligence and check their credentials thoroughly, by exercising good old common sense and following these steps:

1. Verify Their Contact Information

If the company provides a street address, Google it to see if it’s a real address. If they provide a telephone number, call the number to see if it’s answered by the company or an answering service. If they don’t provide a telephone number, walk away. SEO and design SEO is serious business. You need to have the ability to talk to whomever is going to be handling your account. You need to be able to ask questions, and you have a right to expect your questions to be answered in a professional manner.

2. Talk to Previous Customers

If the SEO company publishes testimonials on their website, contact a few of their customers and get their feedback. If the company can’t provide testimonials, walk away, or if the testimonials don’t have contact information, they’re probably bogus. Walk away.

3. Visit Reputable SEO Forums

Visit reputable SEO forums like Jill Whalen’s High Rankings Forum to find out what forum members have to say about the company. If an SEO company has a bad reputation, it will race across the Internet at warp speed. Conversely, if a company has a good reputation, you will find that out also.

4. Check Their Better Business Bureau Record

Most companies who are members of the BBB post it on their website with a link to their record. Check their record to see if they have any complaints, but don’t panic if the company has complaints. All companies receive complaints from time to time. What you want to find out is whether or not the company has an inordinate amount of complaints, and how those complaints have been handled. SEO companies from India will not show up here so you may want to review this article about SEO services from India.

5. Check Them Out with Their State’s Attorney General’s Office

If the company is located in the United States, check them out with their state’s Attorney General’s Office, Division of Consumer Affairs. All companies aren’t members of the BBB so often unhappy or dissatisfied customers will file a report with the AG’s office to get satisfaction.

6. Check Them Out with Local Police Agencies

Before you give a company your hard-earned money, do your due diligence. In addition to checking them out with the BBB and AG, put a call into the police department in their city to see if they’re involved in fraudulent activities. You’d be surprised how cooperative many police agencies are when it comes to fighting fraud in their city.

7. Check Them Out with Online Scam Watch Sites

Like I mentioned a moment ago, if an SEO company has a bad reputation, it will race across the Internet at warp speed. If a company is ripping people off, someone will know about it. Before parting with your hard-earned money, always check companies out with various online scam watch sites like Scam.com.

8. Avoid Companies That Send You Unsolicited E-Mail (spam)

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, legitimate companies don’t send unsolicited e-mail. They don’t send sp@m. Do you know what kind of companies send sp@m? Scam artists intent on ripping you off, that’s who. The best thing to do when you receive sp@m is delete it. Don’t open it, don’t read it, don’t consider it…delete it!

9. Avoid Companies That Aren’t Ranked Competitively

If an SEO company doesn’t have the ability to secure a competitive ranking for their own site, then how on earth can they secure a competitive ranking for yours? Answer: They can’t. While far from perfect, sites like Alexa can give you a fair idea about a site’s ranking.

10. Don’t Make a Hasty Decision

Choosing the right SEO company is critical to the success of your company, so you want to make sure you get it right. Take your time and leave no stone unturned as you do your due diligence. Don’t rush the process, and walk away from companies that try to pressure you into making a quick decision.

11. How Long Has the Company Been Around?

When choosing an SEO company, the length of time they’ve been in business matters. A company’s longevity is a good indication of stability and how good they are at what they do. When it comes to SEO companies, the longer they’ve been in business the better.

12. Have They Written Articles About SEO?

Ask if anyone from their staff have written any articles that have been published on reputable websites. Has anyone on their staff written any books? Do they speak at major SEO conferences? Are they moderators at SEO/SEM forums? All of these things are indicators of professionalism, reputation and expertise.

13. Read the Contract

Don’t sign any contract until you’ve read and completely understood its terms. Better yet, let your attorney look over the contract. Contracts can be tricky, so it’s best to let a professional check things out. It’s too late to read the contract after the fact.

12 Smart Ways to Boost Your Website Traffic
Friday, October 07th, 2011 | Author:
Ways to Boost Your Website Traffic 300x225 12 Smart Ways to Boost Your Website Traffic

Ways to Boost Your Website Traffic

Finding ways to boost your website traffic is essential to anyone who owns a website and/or blog. Without traffic we have no customers or sales. Unfortunately targeted website traffic does not just come to us, we have to work at it and we have to be consistent and persistent.

Sales conversion rates normally average less than 5%. What this means is that only 5% of the people who visit your site will become a paid customer. So, to grow your sales, you need to boost your traffic and/or your conversion rates. Below are twelve things you can do right now to start increasing your traffic to get those sales.

1. Launch an Article Marketing Campaign - Writing articles is not as hard as you might think and it can do wonders for your traffic! Write about something you know and just pretend you are telling a friend all about it. There is no need to use big, fancy words because people just want basic, straightforward information. Submit your articles to some of the more prominent article directories such as Ezine Articles.

2. Guest Posting and/or Commenting on Blogs – Do a search to find quality blogs in your niche and ask if they accept guest posts. Write helpful comments on existing posts and leave your link. Get involved and start building your reputation! A good place to find blogs that need guest posts is BloggerLinkUp.

3. Write Website Reviews – Review websites on Alexa and get more traffic and improve your Alexa rating. Go to Alexa, register an account and start reviewing and getting that traffic.

4. Relevant Keywords - There are a lot of free keyword suggestion tools you can use to find the top keyword searches for your niche. For example: if you own a pet care site, you would enter the words pet care and the tool would find the most relevant keywords for you to use on your site. There are other SEO method you can use including this but be sure your not wasting your time, see What’s bad for SEO.

5. Yahoo Answers – Visit Yahoo Answers regularly and post as many answers as you can but be sure to follow their policies. You cannot try to directly lead people to your purchasing pages or leave low quality answers with your website link.

6. Interactive Site – Make your site interactive with forums, polls, surveys, etc. If your visitors feel more involved with your site, you will get repeat visits and longer stays. Add a little fun as well with contests, games, etc. Have a weekly or monthly scavenger hunt, trivia game, etc. Running a contest for a month can boost your traffic by thousands.

7. Business Cards – Produce an effective business card and hand them out wherever you go. Be sure to make it unique. Offer a discount on a first order. Add a personal message. Offer a freebie. Make your business card more than just your name and address.

8. Podcasting – A podcast is an audio or video broadcast which people can listen to and/or watch on many devices. Make your podcast informative but interesting. Talk about how your site can help the people listening and let them know about any contests or other interactive activities you offer. All you need to make a podcast is a working microphone and a voice editor such as Audacity. Once you have made your podcast, promote it in podcast forums and podcast directories such as PodcastBlaster.

9. Moving Billboard – Turn your vehicle into a moving billboard to advertise your website wherever you go. Use affordable vinyl coverings such as Car Wraps or magnetic signs from Esigns. A day of fun can bring you a lot of traffic from your mobile billboard!

10. Social Media – These days social media is a must for more traffic. Join Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more. Visit message boards and forums and really get involved. Answer people’s questions, offer helpful advice and information. Becoming an active participant in social media can do wonders for your traffic.

11. Offer a Freebie – Write an informative report or ebook and offer it for free. Put in your website link and other business info. Let people know they can give it away on their sites as well. Add it to your email signature. Post it on your social media pages. Before you know it, your report could be all over the web bringing you new traffic every day.

12. Sitemap – Create an XML sitemap for your site and submit it to Google. A sitemap will allow more accessibility to your pages by the search engines, thus making your pages easier to find by people doing searches. You can easily create up to a 500 page sitemap with XML-Sitemaps. There are other options as well such as XSitemap. Do a search and find alternative options to choose from.

Many people swear by many different ways to get more traffic to your site but fact is some will work for you and some will not. If you follow the ideas in this article you will boost your website traffic and if you have additional methods that work let us know. Traffic does not come easily but by working hard, trying new ideas and finding out what works best for you will be very effective in boosting your traffic.

Search Engine Optimization Firm India – Beware
Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 | Author:
search engine optimization firm india Search Engine Optimization Firm India Beware

search engine optimization firm india

If you have been approached by a search engine optimization firm from India you need to be aware. I have used 5 different services so far an all five were complete junk and I wasted my money. If you just can’t resist the low price’s and great promises the here are thing you can do to make sure you have communicated exactly what you want. Keep in mind that even though you tell them will not ensure you will get it so I have included other ways of dealing with search engine optimization firms from India.

The problem With SEO Firms from India

The real big problem is the fact they do not speak English very well so any articles, blog post, forum post etc. that they will create for you will be in broken English making your “Brand” look very unprofessional. Hiring them as a ghost writer is not a great idea.

I want to say that if there is a good search engine optimization firm from India please let me know but what are the odds that I would find 5 out of 5 that were no good.

Getting search engine optimization in India is certainly cost effective as the basic 400 word article will cost you around $7 in North America but only $4 in India and even cheaper still if you buy 50 articles at a time. But really what is the point if you have to proof read them and change all the articles once you get them.

What you can do when dealing with a search engine optimization services in India

Here are some tips to help get a better service,

Don’t pay anything until the work has been delivered and here’s why, If they are confident in their service they will agree then you can see where they have submitted content for you. You will find most SEO firms in India are this way without asking. If they will not do this for you simply move on and find another service, there’s lots out there.

Some of the content they will deliver for you will be on gaming sites or completely unrelated sites that will reject them shortly after the work has been delivered as a completed package to you. Really what’s the point of paying for work and only getting 30% of it to work for you.

As I mentioned earlier content is often spun articles from someone else site and these articles will have potential customers leaving your article after the first sentence. Broken English or content that makes no sense is VERY bad for business.

Finding a search engine optimization firm from India that can produce quality services will make it very big SEO world but I just haven’t found one yet. Let me know if you do.

Most people don’t realize that Facebook has taken some big steps to help improve its own web optimization opportunities these last few months and now we can take advantage of this.

Top SEO Facebook Strategies

1. The Title for Your Facebook Page Should Include You Main Keyword

Selecting the right keyword on your Facebook Page is very important when marketing facebook fan pages. For instance, if your name appears too spammy, people will probably be less likely to talk about it with their associates on their own page and more likely to conceal your updates from their Facebook feed. Secondly, don’t give into the temptation to choose a completely common page title. Facebook’s intention for Pages is that they legitimately characterize businesses and brand names, as well as stars. Recently, Facebook has been disabling updates for common Pages so you will want to be sure to consider this as part of your facebook marketing strategy.

The bottom line: Work with your corporation’s true title as the name of the page and when you choose your Page’s name, don’t alter it. Facebook makes use of your Page name in the title of the Page, and considering that Google dings webpages when their particular titles change, changing your Facebook Page’s name can cost you SEO points and hurt your rankings.

2. URL for Your Facebook Page is Vital

Facebook recently provided the flexibility to choose a title for your Facebook Page, just about the most important SEO option on Facebook to date. Facebook wants Pages to legitimately stand for the identities of businesses. Brand names with commonly used titles have had their rights suspended previously so using Facebook to promote your business requires some discipline.

One of the soundest facebook marketing strategies would be to decide on a username which authentically presents your online business or company. As soon as you select a Facebook username/URL for your Page, it cannot be altered. So, look for a username you are going to be at ease, and satisfied, with for the future. If you have a company that specializes in replica watches, make the URL something to do with replica watches.

3. Make Proper Use Of the “About” box to Place Your Key Phrase In

One critical SEO approach that needs to be utilized in your Facebook Page whenever achievable is inserting key phrase-thick content as close to the top of the Page as it can be. Since Facebook restricts exactly where Page managers can place substantial sections of textual content on the Wall of Facebook Pages, the “About” box basically is the best location in the CSS structure of the page to incorporate custom content. You will find there’s 250 character restriction, so choose your words and phrases sensibly.

4. Make Proper Use Of The “Info” Tab to Add Extra Critical Key Phrases, Content, and High Precedence Backlinks on Your Page

Facebook creates an “Info” tab for each Facebook Page which has fields made up of important illustrative data about the Page. It’s imperative that you complete all these fields, for the reason that they provide the option to add keyword phrases, content, and hyperlinks that may improve the content material rating within your Facebook Page for many kinds of Google queries. The specific fields existing could differ based on the type you choose for your Page whenever you create it, so pick out the class which most effectively meets your business needs.

5. Develop “Static FBML” Boxes and Tabs to Place Lengthy Content Material Plus More Static Backlinks on Your Page

I know what your thinking not many people know how to use FBML coding so if you don’t want to spend the time learning it simply have Facebook Page Designers do it for you. While chances to place substantial blocks of textual content on the default tab of the Facebook Page tend to be quite restricted, Facebook enables Page managers to set-up supplemental boxes or tabs which could carry any type of subject matter, including text, images, and hyperlinks. Adding content boxes or tabs to your Page could be a terrific way to supercharge the score of your Page.

6. Publish Direct Backlinks Aimed at Your Website Inside Your Page’s Stream

Status updates provide a highly effective solution to place direct backlinks at the top of your respective Page. Since Google boosts ranking for webpages which link to relevant internet sites – and penalizes pages which link to irrelevant web pages or that add a great number of inbound links too suddenly – posting hyperlinks in status updates can be quite an effective and reliable approach to better rank your Facebook Page.

You can find 2 methods to submit hyperlinks:

a. Including the URL within the text of the status update itself.

b. Using the “attach link” function.

7. Add Pictures with Captions, Activities with Descriptions, and a Conversation Discussion Board

This almost goes without saying, yet it’s crucial that you regularly spread useful subject matter on the Facebook Page, along with always making use of all offered illustrative fields on every single kind of content shared. When posting images apply lengthy and key phrase-thick explanations. Use the resources Facebook provides for your entire gain.

8. Create Inbound Links to Your Facebook Page from the Internet by Posting Backlinks to Your Page on All Your Websites

Just as a good number of inbound links from high-authority web pages can help improve PageRank for regular internet websites, acquiring inbound links for your Facebook Page may improve its PR as well. You can accomplish this with text backlinks, but Facebook has also developed a badge which it encourages Page managers to utilize.

9. Get Intra-Facebook Inbound Links by Simply Acquiring More Facebook Supporters

The more fans you get, the more backlinks you will have to your own Page inside of Facebook. For Pages with thousands of supporters, the volume of backlinks mounts up.

10. Reinforce Intra-Facebook Linking by Getting Followers to Review and Like Content in Your Stream

Whenever supporters comment or like content in your Facebook Page’s stream, Facebook links their name back to their own Facebook profile page. Subsequently, once the profile stubs of those supporters who’ve put up feedback and likes on your Page are listed, Google will discover more reciprocal links between your Page and your Page’s followers, which it will see to be a much better relationship. This results in a cycle of enhanced link weight from the listed profile page stubs to your Page.
