Building one way links can be done the right way or the wrong way. It is certainly one of the most important aspects of website success these days but you really have to know what your doing. You can just hire an SEO company but you really should know what you are talking about or the one way links you may get won’t help and maybe even hurt you.

Do Not participate in link trading or reciprocal links. I know everyone is doing it these day but the truth is that this can hurt your site. Example: You trade links with a dog training site when your site is related to real estate. These are unrelated niches (Topics) there fore your links are not related and Google won’t recognize them and may even penalize your site because your links are not specific to your niche and there fore are useless to visitors.

As I said, don’t just disregard the smaller websites! Every website starts from zero, and a backlink you obtain today on a PR0 website, could turn into a link from a PR4 or 5 website as that site grows.

Now, let’s not also forget that PR is just one factor to consider when building your backlinks. Of course, this is a good indication of what level of respect Google gives the website. Also, think of relevancy. It’s no good shooting for a link from a PR5 page, if that page has no relation to your website. So apply a little common sense.
