OMG Please stop spreading SEO myths!! If I see one more course, one more ebook, one more SEO company that says you need to do this…you need to do that to build great SEO I’m gonna scream !!!!! You tell me, does this sound familiar?…You buy some gurus course, spending your hard earned money about to learn the next best SEO method that will shoot you to the top of search engines, just to find out that they contradict what you leaned in the last course…what the…???

Sucked In By SEO Myths

Sucked In By SEO Myths Myths About SEO Stop The Bull Sh t

Sucked In By SEO Myths

Example, I paid $400 for this amazing course they would show me how to properly change blog content for BIG traffic. The big secret was to buy Danial Tans Word Press plug in called “SEOPressor”. What a Joke!! I installed the plugin on 4 blogs then spent hours everyday for weeks changing the content to match what the plug in told me was great SEO. After weeks of work and over some 1500 blog post modification to match GREAT SEO there was no change at all. Talk about upset and it’s been over 2 years now with no change.

One course taught me that Meta Tags are no good anymore…NOT true! I disproved this SEO myth myself by accident. I created two website on the same topic, both with 100% unique content but I forgot to add some of Meta to one site whereas the other was fully complete. The complete site was ranking on the first page of Google within hours the other was not. Took me awhile but I figured it out, the other site was missing meta key words and meta description. Since I changed it it’s ranking better but still not as good as the site that was constructed properly the first time.

Let’s take a look at some common SEO myths you may be falling for also.

Common SEO Myths

SEO Myth 1SEO Articles That Get Re-Published on Many Different Sites is Duplicate Content – Not!

This might be the biggest SEO content myth out there! If one of your SEO articles gets picked up (either from your site, an article directory, or from a site you published a guest post on), it’s called “syndication,” not “duplicate content.” That’s because “duplicate content” refers to have the same content on multiple pages of your site. Syndication, on the other hand, is a great way to build links and get exposure.

Anytime you publish SEO content, the goal is to get it syndicated. That way, it winds up in front of the eyeballs of people who are going to do business with you.

Example: I have a website that I copied 100% of the content (with permission) and simply added my own SEO techniques and that site out ranks the original site and is still to this day at the top of Google search results and that was over three years ago and I haven’t touch a thing on it since.

SEO Myth 2The Best SEO Content is 1,000 Words. (or 500 words, or 250 words)

You will hear this statement uttered by people who just don’t know a whole lot. The big topic these day being spread around the net is that longer is better, or that shorter content will leave people yearning for more – but the truth is, there is no “magical” SEO content length.

I have blog post that are 600 words ranking on the first page of Google. See it by typing into Google “Fruit Engine Scam“.
Instead, the best length for your SEO article, blog posting, or sales copy depends on your topic. Sure, it may be easy to create 1,500 compelling, well-researched words about getting over a divorce – but imagine what it would be like to read 1,500 words about heartburn medication or pipe welding. Trust me, your readers won’t want to do it, either!

Great SEO content writing leaves readers feeling like they’ve learned something new, and it instills enough trust in you that readers want to see what else you have to provide. Sometimes, you can do that in 400 words. Other times, it takes 1,200 words to do it.

SEO Myth 3 Your SEO Content Has to be Updated All the Time

The truth is… this is partially true!

Yes, the search engines like websites that are updated on a regular basis. Sites that are growing mean they are being updated. This is why your new SEO article or blog post can bump you up a few spots in the rankings right after you publish it.

Why I say partially true is because with great SEO you can have a site ranking well in search engines and hardly ever update it. Of course this will depend on your competition, backlinks etc. Of course a site called “back bacon mailboxes for junior” will rank high in the search engines if this is what 1 person every 5 years is searching for.

However, updating your existing content doesn’t have to be done all the time. For example, if you have a great homepage that’s generating results, don’t change it just to appease the search engines. Instead, add new content to the internal pages of your site.

SEO Myth 4 -Your SEO content Is Not as Important as Your Backlinks

The high-quality links out there – you know, the ones that are going to boost your ranking in the search engine results – are not the ones that you trade for, or purchase. Instead, the only way to get those high-quality links is to give something that other people WANT to link to. That means coming up with SEO content that knocks people’s socks off. If you publish content that people can’t help wanting to share with their friends and colleagues, you’ll wind up getting a ton of high-quality backlinks.

SEO Myth 5Optimizing SEO Content Properly Means Having a High Keyword Density

Of course, you need to have your target keywords sprinkled throughout your article, blog posting, or sales copy. After all, that’s how the search engines know what you’re trying to rank for.

However, if you use your keywords too frequently, all you’ll do is turn off readers and search engines.

The right keyword density for your content depends on the keyword itself. Some keywords lend themselves nicely to a density of 1.5% or 2% – while others can only be used less than 1% of the time and still look natural.

Remember, your readers shouldn’t be able to read your content and pick out the keywords you used. If your keywords stick out like a sore thumb, you’re not optimizing your content properly. Instead, your SEO content will cast a negative light on you and your business!

How To Avoid SEO Scams

How To Avoid SEO Scams 300x212 How To Avoid SEO Scams

How To Avoid SEO Scams

There are few things you can do to help avoid SEO scams and help define two important elements that can qualify companies that promote themselves as SEO experts to make sure they are competence and professionalism. Here I can help you find out if a company is competent and professional, as well as legitimate.

It’s up to you to do your due diligence and check their credentials thoroughly, by exercising good old common sense and following these steps:

1. Verify Their Contact Information

If the company provides a street address, Google it to see if it’s a real address. If they provide a telephone number, call the number to see if it’s answered by the company or an answering service. If they don’t provide a telephone number, walk away. SEO and design SEO is serious business. You need to have the ability to talk to whomever is going to be handling your account. You need to be able to ask questions, and you have a right to expect your questions to be answered in a professional manner.

2. Talk to Previous Customers

If the SEO company publishes testimonials on their website, contact a few of their customers and get their feedback. If the company can’t provide testimonials, walk away, or if the testimonials don’t have contact information, they’re probably bogus. Walk away.

3. Visit Reputable SEO Forums

Visit reputable SEO forums like Jill Whalen’s High Rankings Forum to find out what forum members have to say about the company. If an SEO company has a bad reputation, it will race across the Internet at warp speed. Conversely, if a company has a good reputation, you will find that out also.

4. Check Their Better Business Bureau Record

Most companies who are members of the BBB post it on their website with a link to their record. Check their record to see if they have any complaints, but don’t panic if the company has complaints. All companies receive complaints from time to time. What you want to find out is whether or not the company has an inordinate amount of complaints, and how those complaints have been handled. SEO companies from India will not show up here so you may want to review this article about SEO services from India.

5. Check Them Out with Their State’s Attorney General’s Office

If the company is located in the United States, check them out with their state’s Attorney General’s Office, Division of Consumer Affairs. All companies aren’t members of the BBB so often unhappy or dissatisfied customers will file a report with the AG’s office to get satisfaction.

6. Check Them Out with Local Police Agencies

Before you give a company your hard-earned money, do your due diligence. In addition to checking them out with the BBB and AG, put a call into the police department in their city to see if they’re involved in fraudulent activities. You’d be surprised how cooperative many police agencies are when it comes to fighting fraud in their city.

7. Check Them Out with Online Scam Watch Sites

Like I mentioned a moment ago, if an SEO company has a bad reputation, it will race across the Internet at warp speed. If a company is ripping people off, someone will know about it. Before parting with your hard-earned money, always check companies out with various online scam watch sites like Scam.com.

8. Avoid Companies That Send You Unsolicited E-Mail (spam)

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, legitimate companies don’t send unsolicited e-mail. They don’t send sp@m. Do you know what kind of companies send sp@m? Scam artists intent on ripping you off, that’s who. The best thing to do when you receive sp@m is delete it. Don’t open it, don’t read it, don’t consider it…delete it!

9. Avoid Companies That Aren’t Ranked Competitively

If an SEO company doesn’t have the ability to secure a competitive ranking for their own site, then how on earth can they secure a competitive ranking for yours? Answer: They can’t. While far from perfect, sites like Alexa can give you a fair idea about a site’s ranking.

10. Don’t Make a Hasty Decision

Choosing the right SEO company is critical to the success of your company, so you want to make sure you get it right. Take your time and leave no stone unturned as you do your due diligence. Don’t rush the process, and walk away from companies that try to pressure you into making a quick decision.

11. How Long Has the Company Been Around?

When choosing an SEO company, the length of time they’ve been in business matters. A company’s longevity is a good indication of stability and how good they are at what they do. When it comes to SEO companies, the longer they’ve been in business the better.

12. Have They Written Articles About SEO?

Ask if anyone from their staff have written any articles that have been published on reputable websites. Has anyone on their staff written any books? Do they speak at major SEO conferences? Are they moderators at SEO/SEM forums? All of these things are indicators of professionalism, reputation and expertise.

13. Read the Contract

Don’t sign any contract until you’ve read and completely understood its terms. Better yet, let your attorney look over the contract. Contracts can be tricky, so it’s best to let a professional check things out. It’s too late to read the contract after the fact.

What To Look For When Selecting An SEO Company
Sunday, June 20th, 2010 | Author:

Selecting An Seo Company 300x206 What To Look For When Selecting An SEO CompanyThere are many companies offering SEO services in todays market but how do you separate the top SEO companies from junk and scams? I will show you what to look for when selecting an SEO company!

I personally paid $500 to a bogus company called “At Page One” to an account rep named Jim Ford. WATCH out for these guys they are a scam. They changed the name of the company of course from “Modern Marketing” to “At Page One” and now it’s  something else (They wouldn’t tell me). They promised page one listings, took my $500 and did nothing but creat one chezzey video on You Tube. I called and called and could not get any answers when I did speak to Mr. Ford he told me that I was at fault and hung up on me. To this day I don’t know what I could possibly have done wrong except select the WRONG SEO company. Jim Ford is scam! Search his name “Jim ford scams” in Google and you find his name under rip off reports..

If you are looking for real results that are worth your time and money, consider the following tips when selecting an SEO company.

First, try to select a company that has been in business for awhile. You want someone with a proven track record of providing quality, honest work for a variety of other types of businesses. This will show that they have the knowledge required to give you the service you deserve and respect. Things are constantly changing in this market, so find someone with the knowledge to be successful.

Fruit Engine is one good company to try because they will work with you every step of the way. I don NOT get paid anything to recommend these guys. Before I selected Fruit engine I called some of their references first and these were real website owners that used fruit engine. They had really good reviews.

This is a free way of testing out what a company knows and what they would be willing to do for your business. All I did was call the references told them I was thinking about selecting the SEO campany they used and wanted to know if they were effective or not. Don’t just send an email to contact you because in most cases you won’t hear back. Call directly, you are losing nothing by checking out the service.

One thing to keep in mind is that If you have to pay for the initial SEO analysis of your website, you should not trust the company.

So, what exactly are you looking for in this top SEO company? What would someone with knowledge and experience be able to do for you? In a nutshell, they will be able to drive traffic to your site and give you a better position with the search engines.

More specifically, look for a company that understands the art of building your sites ranking. The biggest mistake many beginners are making is to go overboard with keywords and other strategies. The problem here is that search engines will often flag a site that goes too heavy with key words a spam. That works against your ultimate objective of becoming well known.

Normally, keyword density is recommended to be from 3% to 7% in every article. Sometimes, SEO people go too far that they commit keyword stuffing which is a form of unethical SEO. It’s alright to mention the keywords as many times as you want as long as flow of the article requires it. It does not help your website or articles and will not boost its search engine ranking if you do stuff keywords.

The top SEO company will usually be an organic company themselves and if they are good at what they do they will be ranking themselves under key words like “SEO Company” or “SEO Service”. This means that they respect the natural process that is supposed to come with building a legitimate online business or website. This is the same process the search engines expect to see with a legitimate site, so going organic will decrease your chances of being on the spam list.

For instance, a service that is interested in throwing up your site as quickly as possible to make their money and move on to the next client may rush out and get you tons of backlinks in just a couple days or weeks. An organic company will spread the links out over time, allowing the site to build up in a more natural way. There is a great tendency to be penalized by search engines if you get a ton of links within a short amount of time. Another good tip is to make sure that the number of incoming links to your website outnumbers the outgoing links instead of the other way around.

You will get a lot further with the organic SEO company, even if the process is not as speedy. If you find a top SEO company interested in getting the job done extremely fast then you may not get the results you are really wanting.

A top SEO company for your website should be someone who knows the industry inside and out, is up to date with the current search engine standards and practices, and who is willing to take the time to develop your site as naturally as possible.

Understanding Organic SEO
Thursday, June 03rd, 2010 | Author:

Everyone has heard of SEO (search engine optimization) and why its very important and crucial for the success of every website. No SEO means No organic web traffic. SEO covers a wide variety of subject which can be classified in to two independent divisions. These are non organic or paid SEO and organic or free SEO. They may be independent but these two are closely related. It is important to distinguish the two classifications in order to completely understand the concept of SEO.

Organic optimization is a technique that uses paid search advertising. This is dependent on search keywords or sets of these in order to pull visitors or traffic to a site. Pay-per-click ads are a classic example of this type of site optimization. PPC is a technique where a site owner places ads on different sites and each click ont hese ads will be used in determining the advertiser’s ROI. PPC ads are ideal for those who are looking for fast and computable results.

Organic SEO, however, involves making sites more appealing to search engines in order to get high rankings. Getting higher traffic to your sites can be achieved through this. To fully differentiate the two techniques, non organic SEO gives a site owner fast and computable results while organic SEO focuses on building the sites reputation with the number of visitors with the use of relevant keywords.

Organic campaigns end up with content that people find reason to keep coming back to because of technical quality and search relevance. With reasonable use of search engine-friendly words and phrases, the site is further optimized.

Any successful organic optimization campaign is rooted in an effective balance between technical, verbal and marketing expertise. Because this approach allows a site to be improved on every aspect from title to purpose, it has the ability to strengthen the site so people will actually visit it and be glad for the experience rather than visit and click away for not finding anything worth a read. A non-organic campaign also works for the short-term while an organic is on the job for the long haul. Search engine optimisation, whether non-organic or organic seo, is a welcome development as far as site owners are concerned and once you learn  reliable Design SEO , it won’t be long before your site starts raking in search engine results.
